Making Your Own Baby Cloth Wipes

Make your own baby wipes and make big savings!

Items required:

• 1 wipe box (empty).
• 20 flannels/ square cloths.
• 1 bottle of Scented Baby Oil.
• 1 bottle Baby Bath Wash (Top to Toe is ideal!).

Making your wipes…

1. Cut the cloths into two, sew down either side to prevent frays.
2. Clean out the empty box and put a dribble of baby oil into the bottom.
3. Put the wipes into a sink of hot water.
4. Pour in a small amount of Baby Bath Wash and squeeze in a few drops of baby oil.
5. Rinse cloths so that they are still slightly soapy.

Put used cloth wipes into the washing machine (with your normal load) at 40 degrees. Simply repeat the soaking process (above) to make up another batch of cloth wipes. You can alternatively buy solution specially made by companies such as Monkey Doodles and Wipe Cubes. However, this is just another cost which isn’t really required. There are many other recipes on the internet for wipe solutions which are easily made at home, get googling!

Although it may seem like hard work to start with, it is well worth the effort once you are setup with a set of 30-40 wipes. Cloth wipes have many other advantages; they tend not to smear mess into your babies skin as most industrial wipes do. Cloth wipes are softer and kinder on baby’s skin, they are perfect for facial and body washing.
