After having your baby, Mother’s usually require a short hospital stay. During this time you often find that Nurses and Midwives suggest swaddling your baby with a ‘pram sheet’ and then covering them with a blanket which is to be tucked under the mattress to ensure that baby is safe. However, this method of ‘bedding your baby’ is unsafe once they can move their arms freely. Babies have a very strong grip and can often lift blankets and sheets above their faces and this creates a SIDS risk (Infant Cot Death).
